The Bentley Flying Spur already comes with a massive 6.0-Iiter W12 engine that pushes out an incredible 616-horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, which simply put is a lot to cruise around town in style and luxury. But that certainly does not stop Bentley from producing more powerful road barges for their customers as their latest creation really takes the cake.

Called the Mulsanne Speed, this luxurious cruiser is nothing of what you might have expected it to be. Sure, it has the looks of a classy four-wheeled carriage that VIPs or even royalties would not think twice to get on board. But once they are in, they will experience what Bentley describes as “the fastest ultra-luxury driving experience in the world”.

That is because under the hood of this Bentley is a 6.75-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine with a redesigned combustion system and new variable valve timing, giving it 530bhp and an insane torque figure of 811 lb-ft or 1,100Nm. That is 25bhp and 59 lb-ft of torque more than today’s Mulsanne.

The engine also features cylinder deactivation, allowing it to run as a V4 on light loads. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox which has also been given some tweaks to improve torque delivery. It also comes with a new ‘S’ mode, keeping the engine speed above 2000rpm to allow quicker turbo response.

From the outside, the Mulsanne Speed gets a new dark tint to the stainless steel front grille, front mesh, front headlights and rear lights to differentiate it from the standard Mulsanne. It comes with 21-inch alloy wheels, twin exhaust pipes, and there are four new bodywork colours to choose from.
