We love production cars. They are crazy, outrageous, and give us a peek of what may be coming up from an auto manufacturer. And after Volkswagen showed the Golf R 400 concept at the Beijing Motor Show that looked seemingly too toned down as a concept, this hot hatch will be something to be looked forward in the near future as it will be reaching the production lines.
The confirmation came from a conversation with Car and Driver, where the head of VW’s R&D, Heinz-Jakob Neusser revealed the future plans of this Golf R 400. Powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter EA888 engine, it was tweaked to produce 395-horsepower and do a zerotohundred in 3.9 seconds.
For the time being, no further information has been released on its production date or whether it will be produced in limited numbers.
