Keeping true to it’s roots, Lamborghini will likely be offering a few variants of the Huracan, starting with a Spyder variant some time next year, and followed by a rear wheel drive variant. Speaking at the recent Pebble Beach Concours Event, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann said “We did it with the Gallardo so it might be an option. We are a four-wheel-drive super-sports car [manufacturer] but why should we not do a rear-drive option?”.

Besides the rear wheel drive derivative of the Huracan, Winkelmann also hinted of a topless Spyder variant of the Huracan. The topless Spyder variant is expected to be announced next year, followed by a light weight rear wheel drive variant.

Like the Gallardo Superleggera before, the Huracan is expected to get the same Superleggera treatment, like losing some pounds and gaining some extra power. Besides the Superleggera variant, a rear wheel drive Balboni edition Huracan can also be expected, albeit with less power. Whether or not the Balboni edition Huracan will be cheaper than the existing Huracan is yet to be known.
