One of two Red McLaren F1s sold with a price tag of USD 10.5 Million!

There is no denying that the McLaren F1 is a spectacular machine. Ever since its introduction back in 1992, the car has been turning heads, especially after its record breaking run of being the world’s fastest production car with a 391km/h in 1998. With a limited number of 106 units being built and only 64 of them were road cars, it is no surprise that such a car could fetch an insane price tag these days, like the one being sold recently at a whopping USD 10.5 million.

Aside from the car being a McLaren F1, it is also one of the rare gems in the group as it is one of only two red F1s ever produced. This chassis number 28 car was built for Michael Andretti in exchange for terminating his contract early when he was driving for McLaren’s Formula One team.

After changing hands for a couple of times and crossing continents along the way, the car was sourced by DK Engineering for a British collector and it was finally on its way back to its homeland. With reports saying that the car was sold at USD 10.5 million, this is now the most expensive McLaren F1 ever sold, surpassing the one sold at Pebble Beach Last year at USD 8.47 million.
