“We don’t need retail showrooms. We will be using ‘ambassadors’ [to promote the car]. The e-GT is aimed at the sort of person who has everything,” said Luc Marchetti, chairman of Exagon Motors. A very bold statement, for a relatively new brand. But Luc Marchetti is confident, and here’s why.
Unlike the Tesla Model S, which is a 5 door luxury liftback, the Furtive e-GT is a proper Grand Touring (GT) sports car. Both electric cars may be rear wheel drive, but the Furtive boasts a twin electric motor set up. Both liquid-cooled electric motors are made by Siemens, and has a combined output of 402hp. Torque, on the other hand, is rated at 515NM, and is available from 0 all the way to 5000rpm. With such immense torque, Michelin had to develop special rear tires for the Furtive e-GT.
The Furtive e-GT employs a carbon fibre structure, for strength and weight advantages. The carbon fibre structure weighs a mere 124kg. This aids the Furtive e-GT to sprint from zero to hundred in a mere 3.5 seconds, putting many high performance cars to shame. Top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h, while the fully charged range is around 300km. Exagon is also offering a small range extender engine to charge the batteries on the go. Coupled with the range extender, the estimated range the Furtive e-GT will increase to 730km.
To keep the Furtive e-GT exclusive, Exagon will be making the Furtive e-GT on a made-to-order basis. Potential owners can customize their Furtive e-GT to their taste and liking. The price of all these? A cool £360,000.
