EVO takes the GTR-powered Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge for a spin!

We just could not help but feel excited every time there is a piece of news about the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge. Like the super saloons from Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi, this prototype from Infiniti shows great potential, especially with that impressive 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine lifted from the GTR residing under the hood.

With 560-horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque generated, the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and BMW M3 will have something to worry about if the Eau Rouge makes it into the production lines. And since Infiniti has already started the development testing of this super saloon, the blokes from EVO were extremely lucky as they managed to go for a spin in the prototype on the Milbrook Proving Ground in the UK.

While the GTR engine really had us pumped up, one would have to remember that it is not only the engine that made the R35 stood up among the rest. Unfortunately for the Q50 Eau Rouge, it neither comes with a twin clutch transmission nor the AWD system from the GTR. Instead, it gets a seven-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system, both derived from the Q70.

Nevertheless, the Q50 Eau Rouge still showed some potential and probably when it reaches the production stage, a more suitable package will be fitted into the car. Check out the full review of the Q50 Eau Rouge in the video below.
