Showcasing the best that the Prancing Horse could offer, the prestigious Ferrari Racing Days had finally made an appearance on Malaysian soil, or shall we say tarmac, to give us a taste of what we have been missing all these while. Held at Sepang International Circuit on the 21st – 23rd February 2014, the whole weekend was filled with screaming V8s, one howling V10, and the glorious sound from the mighty V12s.

Hosting a packed schedule that not only involves the owners but also the special programs that Ferrari offers to their clients, the Ferrari Racing Days is the best way to personally experience how the Maranello marquee takes great care of their valued customers. This is also a great opportunity for the fans of Ferrari to get a glimpse of their favorite machine unleashing its full strength on our Sepang Circuit.

The first Ferrari Racing Days in Malaysia kicked off with the special unveiling of the 458 Speciale. After six months of its debut, this lightened and hardcore Italia is finally available to the Malaysian market with the price tag of RM 1,238,800 before duty.

Oh, and there’s also a waiting list of one year from the moment of booking. But looking at this beauty will simply make you drool and the one year wait is totally worth it.

While we are in the subject of something special, Ferrari had also converted a couple of the pits into a showroom where they put into display some cars in their current line up like the FF, F12, 458 Italia and the California.

But what caught our attention the most in display were the ones that resides in the neighbouring pits. In here, Ferrari had gathered some of the rarest units that appear on the roads once in a blue moon in Malaysia. They are the 16M, the 550 Barchetta, the 599 GTO, and last but not least, the mighty Enzo.

Ferrari also understands the need of being unique from the other owners. To have the wealth in owning such a machine, some owners would want to customize their Horse to be different/unique from the others. For this, Ferrari had created the Tailor-Made program to give the owners a touch of exclusivity through personalizations that could be as simple as the interior’s stitching, all the way to giving the car a unique shade of paint according to the owner’s specifications.

While the pits were already buzzing with activities, the circuit was kept alive with numerous programs lined up by Ferrari. Featuring the best drivers from all over, the horde of 458 Challenges gave the spectators an adrenalin rush as the first round of the 2014 Asia Pacific Ferrari Challenge took place.

Although the 458 Challenge race cars were slick through the corners and jam-packed with drama, the F1 Clienti program was just unbeatable. Giving their clients the option to actually own a real F1 car used by the team themselves in recent years, this year’s program really left us with an everlasting impression.

Already bidding farewell to the V8 and replaced with a turbocharged V6 for this year’s F1, the soundtracks produced by the V10 F2001 and the V8 F2007 were simply orgasmic and something that the future generation might not be able to experience.

Also making its debut on Malaysian soil was another special programme by Corse Clienti; the exclusive XX Programme. This non-competitive programme gives their clients special privilege to be a part of their research and development efforts, and at the same time travel all over the world to experience prestigious race tracks around the world.

The V12 residing in both the FXX and the 599XX Evo are just a tower of power that produces a savage symphony of sound and speed that we will never get enough with.

And to send off the first Ferrari Racing Days in Sepang, the Ferrari owners from both Malaysia and Singapore came together in an attempt to set a new record of the largest Ferrari Gathering in Malaysia. Although the record was not broken, the massive turn up of 100+ Prancing Horses was nevertheless an amazing sight to behold, especially when it was joined by some rare models like the Enzo and the GTO.

IMG_7208While this might be the first time for Ferrari Racing Days to make an appearance here, the support given in by both the owners and the fans was simply immense. We look forward for the next Ferrari Racing Days to be held in Malaysia, and hopefully the LaFerrari will also drop by at the same time.
