The 2013 Dubai Motor Show is well underway but it seems that there is one particular machine that is raking up all of the attention. It is not by a well-known manufacturer like Ferrari, Lamborghini or Pagani even, but it is from one called Devel. And the machine that they had brought down is something a bit out of this world which even we have a bit of a hard time believing its authenticity.
The car in mention here is called the Devel Sixteen. While the looks of this car has already astounded us, looking more like a cross breed of the Pagani Zonda + Lamborghini Veneno, a quick peek on the spec sheet takes us even further. Powered by a quad-turbo 7.2-liter V16 power plant, Devel claims that the Sixteen has a total output of 5,000-horsepower.
Yes, the same number of cylinders as the Veyron but with five times the power. Devel also claims that it could dash from zerotohundred in 1.8 seconds (which we might be able to digest this) and has a top speed of 348mph or 560kmh (okay, now that’s absurd).
While we are not trying to be too sceptical about the Devel, the overall package seems too good to be true, and the existence of the machine seems to be a bit too sudden. Either way, we will be waiting for the Sixteen to actually get itself to a runway and prove that the colossal numbers do exist. What is your take on this Devel Sixteen; is it an actual record-breaking car or is it just a farfetched wish list to pull more attention to Dubai?
