The One Utama Shopping Mall was recently where PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) concluded their 5-month long nationwide ‘Switch for XTRA’ roadshow, which was aimed at informing customers as to how they can choosing the right fuel for enhanced performance and savings. At the same time, PBD provided those who attended with some prizes to go along with the fun-filled activities during the two-day event.
Over the 2 days, an estimated 750 participants visited the event who went away with a better understanding and appreciation of PETRONAS’ involvement Formula One (F1).
Experts from PETRONAS were on hand to explain how the their experience in ing F1 gets trickled down into designing, developing and delivering high performance oil-based products through the integrated PETRONAS Fluid Technology Solution (FTS).
The main purpose of the ‘Switch for XTRA’ Campaign was to ultimately “share the benefits of the PETRONAS PRIMAX 95 XTRA with customers”, as mentioned by Akbar Md Thayoob (Senior General Manager of PDB’s Retail Business Division).
Through such a campaign, another aim was also to share the importance of having some basic knowledge about fuels through their participation in F1 and how it gets translated to better products for consumers, in order to better appreciate the type of fuel that goes into their vehicles.
Other than showcasing the PETRONAS PRIMAX 95 XTRA, there were interactive games available to have some fun on, which included an F1 Simulator, XTRA Dirt Punch, XTRA Distance, XTRA Savings, XTRA Performance and the XTRA Trivial Wall to help make it a fun learning experience, as mentioned by Zaharah A Kadir who said, “It was a very interesting session for me as I got to learn how PRIMAX 95 XTRA works with the engine to maximise the vehicle’s performance. And to learn the fact that PETRONAS is behind the development of fuel for the Formula One™ motorsports just reaffirms the quality of PRIMAX 95 XTRA.”
“I am definitely switching to PRIMAX 95 XTRA for XTRA savings and XTRA performance! Of course, I will share my new-found knowledge with my family and friends and convince them to switch too,” she added.
Automobile enthusiast Yeo Win Harn said, “I have switched to PRIMAX 95 XTRA earlier due to the many good reviews that I was receiving. I am here today with my friends and family as I want to show them that PETRONAS’ fuels are just as good, if not better than any other international brands and convince them to switch.”
“Afterall, we should support our country’s product, especially one that is of quality and innovative like PRIMAX 95 XTRA,” he added.
For those who participated in the games, PDB rewarded them with 100 Mesra points for each game played along with other PETRONAS-branded merchandises.
In tandem with PDB’s commitment in delivering innovative products, the Company also emphasised on providing differentiating services for its customers. In this regard, PDB has turned its PETRONAS stations into a one-stop centre where customers can conveniently fuel up, dine, bank and run their errands, all under one roof. The Company also introduced car spa services to bring unique offerings for customers at its selected stations.
The nationwide ‘Switch for XTRA’ roadshow was first rolled out at Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur, followed by Queensbay Mall in Penang and Ipoh Parade in Perak before finally wrapping up here in One Utama shopping mall.
