Naza Kia Malaysia has officially launched it’s second best-selling car in Malaysia – the Cerato. Previously known as the Forte, the new and rebadged Cerato is set to go against its C-segment rivals with its handsome exterior persona and luxurious creature comforts. With a monthly sales target of 600 units, Naza Kia is set to change the landscape of the market segment as a new benchmark with the new Cerato.
The new Cerato will come in two variations, starting with the base-model 1.6-litre Gamma II MPI which produces a respectable output of 130ps and 157nm. Just like the Forte, the top of the range model comes in the form of a 2.0-litre NU MPI producing 161ps and 194nm. Both of the variations are mated to a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters.
Featuring a more detailed styling with sleek and masculine lines, the new Cerato is set to be bigger than it’s predecessor inside out. The exterior features Kia’s signature ‘Tiger Nose’ which displays the Cerato’s stylish profile along with LED Daytime Running Light (DRL) that defines the frontal fascia of the car. This design is more than just looks – as it is purposeful too, with a Coefficient of Drag factor of 0.27, it helps the engineers achieve a more efficient and quieter vehicle.
Inside – the Cerato comes with premium features like Push Start Ignition, Reverse camera, Bluetooth connectivity which is tagged with an iPhone 5 sized, 4.3″ TFT-LCD touch screen and 10-way electric seat which comes as standard for both models. The party piece would be the motor-driven power steering with flex steer system, which alters with the weight of the steering for different driving stylres. The MDPS system comes in choices of three settings: Comfort, Normal and Sport.
Luxuries like sunroof, air-ventilated driver’s seat and HID Xenon headlamps are exclusively available, only for the 2.0-litre variant.
Naza Kia is confident that the Cerato will easily win hearts in the growing C-segment market with it’s charming aesthetics and premium features that will play a huge role in the sales numbers. According to the COO of Naza Kia Malaysia, Datuk Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar – ” The Cerato has been one of the most highly-anticipated model launches in Malaysia and will play a key part in growing Naza Kia Malaysia’s sales volume this year.”
