Lamborghini sues replica maker – A company that sells a ‘Lamborghini’ for only $4000

For the lucky few – they get the opportunity to own a proper, speed-munching Supercar. Or Supercars..but for the rest who don’t? Well, a man named Jackie Johnson has been supplying look-alike kits for a small amount of dough. How much you asked? If you’d like a Lamborghini, that’s $4000 + the cost of purchasing one of these four cars : Toyota MR-2, Pontiac Fiero, Dodge Neon or a Porsche Boxster.

CARKITINC – the alabama based company operates just like any other kit-car makers but it seems to have caught Lamborghini Automobili S.p.A and is now facing legal lawsuits from the main maker. Lamborghini seems to be absolutely serious about it, and even together with the lawsuit, wants CARKITINC to destroy all of their moulds, post it on video, and shut down the company altogether immediately.

Seems a bit harsh doesn’t it? Well, understanding that each and every Lamborghini made is a thing of beauty, and they are special pieces of art to own, replicating them would make the original just that much less special – especially if it costs only $4000. Johnson has refused to destroy his moulds and he claims that he is doing a massive favour for car lovers and that his business and profession is “a form of artistic expression.”

Well, the future of CARKITINC looks bleak and if you are one of the car lovers in the bracket that Johnson has mentioned, you may want to give them a call before Lamborghini S.p.A sends a bulldozer over and destroy every last piece of mould available in the office. At the same time, make sure to browse for one of the 4 cars specifically needed of course.
