Koenigsegg Aims to Smash the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport’s Speed Record with the One:1!

Koenigsegg has been playing on Bugatti’s front door for years, threatening to topple the speed king’s grasp on the top speed throne. Although they had yet to do so for the time being, the Veyron Super Sports might have to look out as the Swedish company is lining up a brand new machine to do the job, simply dubbed the One:1.

Recently interviewed by Business Week, Christian von Koenigsegg himself said that the One:1 will have the capability to reach speeds of at least 450 km/h. That is simply way faster than the current Guinness World Record holder’s top speed of 415 km/h.

But Koenigsegg will definitely not stop there as they will also attempt to break the 0-200 km/h, 0-300 km/h, and also 0-400 km/h. They claim that they could reach 400 km/h from a standstill in just 20 seconds; 25 seconds faster than the Veyron.

While there is yet any word on the availability of the One:1 to the customers, Koenigsegg said that the prototype will be ready for testings by the end of the year. The One:1 is named so because it will generate 1bhp for every 1kg of weight. Power will be supplied from a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 engine producing at least 1,400bhp.
