Honda Urban SUV Concept – a Mini CR-V?

Set to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show within a few days is Honda’s Urban SUV Concept, something along the lines of a Jazz-based crossover and will utilize the same platform as the next generation Honda Jazz.

Design-wise, it’s got a nose somewhat reminiscent of the upcoming NSX Concept, a similar treatment as what BMW did with their X Series and Porsche’s Cayenne, in trying to add a certain pedigree about it.

Since it’ll be using the Jazz’s platform, we think it should be aptly given a Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV) designation rather than the larger SUV orientation that comes to our minds. After all, it’ll be roughly around the dimensions of a Nissan Juke or a Peugeot 2008, and while it’ll offer more room for occupants, it’s not all that significantly copious.

Whatever powerplant that’s headed under the Urban’s hood is currently unconfirmed at this point in time (as expected), at least till the Detroit Auto Show gets underway perhaps, and while we’re digging it’s new muscular curves, we can only hope that it’s propulsion will be adequately matched to it’s new-found looks.
