Hennessey Venom GT Steals Top-Speed Crown from Veyron – Goes 427.6kmh!

The United States Naval Air Station in Lemoore, CA is where we lay our scene as a 2013 Hennessy Venom GT gets equipped with 2 VBOX 3i data logging systems before it reached a top speed of 427.6kmh on a run way; all thanks to its mid-mounted 7.0L twin-turbo V8 dishing out 1,244bhp and 1,566Nm of toque for something that only weighs 1,244.2kg.

With VBOX officials present to verify the figures, Hennessey Venom GT took to the 3.2km runway to do the deed and right before it could exhaust all its steam, the Venom GT had unfortunately run out of tarmac; forcing it to either back off or take-off. Fortunately they went for the former instead of the latter.

Soon after, VBOX officials were able to confirm that the Venom GT had managed to reach an astounding 427.6kmh within the short 3.2km runway, which effectively beats the Veyron’s factory top speed of 415.2kmh by 12.4kmh.

No we can only wonder where else will the Venom GT will be able to stretch its legs fully and indicate to us just how fast it’ll be able to run…the Bonneville Salt Flats perhaps?
