Half of Jaguar’s F-Type 2013 Production is Sold Out!

The Jaguar F-Type has so far received a very warm reception from car lovers all over. The gorgeous looks that the F-Type carries is just in a class of its own, which has entitled it to bag the 2013 World Car Design of the Year. And with that, it is no surprise that this new and sexy roadster has already sold half of its first year’s production.

“Half of the first year’s production of the F-Type is already sold”, said Global Brand Director Adrian Hallmark to Autonews, which also means that if one would have to wait until the end of the year to get the car if an order is placed now. Hallmark also added that the F-Type will have a better influence than the other models in Jaguar’s production line, and at the same time boosting the carmaker’s brand image.

The F-Type is priced at €73,400 (RM 297,000) and is positioned between the Porsche Boxster and the 911 Carrera Convertible. Jaguar is also expecting the F-Type to make up 15 – 20 percent of their total annual output of 60,000 units.

The main markets for Jaguar’s new roadster will be the United States, UK, Germany, and China. The F-Type is offered with three gasoline engines; a 3.0-liter V6 with 340-horsepower or 380-horsepower, and a 5.0-liter V8 with 495-horsepower. All three versions come with a supercharger, ZF’s new eight-speed automatic transmission and a start-stop system. The coupe version is expected to arrive somewhere in mid-2014.
