With the list of cities hosting the FIA Formula E Championship is completed, Formula E Holdings recently unveiled its provisional 2014/2015 calendar. Set to take place on 10 city centres covering four continents, this electrifying race series will kick start in Beijing, China on 20th September 2014.
Proposed to the FIA during their World Motor Sport Council in Dubrovnik, Croatia, the championship will start from September 2014 to June 2015. The Chinese capital of Beijing will have the honour in hosting the start of this historic fully-electric race, while the season finale will be hosted in London on 27th June 2015.
Three new locations have also been added into the original list of cities announced earlier in March this year. Those locations are Uruguay’s Punta del Este beach resort, Monte Carlo’s famous harbour and one of the world’s leading financial centres in Hong Kong. They will replace the originally-listed Rome, Rio de Janeiro and Bangkok.
“We’re very excited to be revealing our provisional calendar today and thankful to all the cities that have agreed to host our Formula E races, as well as those that had shown interest. Since launching the Championship last year we have received formal offers from more than 25 cities all over the world making choosing just 10 very difficult indeed”, said Alejandro Agag, CEO of Championship promoters Formula E Holdings.
