Vorsteiner restyles the McLaren 12C with the MP4-VX – A more menacing update to the looks?

The McLaren 12C has recently been getting attention from aftermarket companies; restyling the purpose-built design to something more aggressive. The world has seen the DMC MP4 Velocita and the Revozsport’s styling package – now the California based company called Vorsteiner has had a go at restyling the British supercar.

Dubbed the MP4-VX edition – Vorsteiner offers a carbon packaged restyling kit, which drowns the 12C’s subtle looks and creates a more menacing fascia. The front end has been redesigned; fitted with a carbon fibre splitter which should help the car’s aerodynamic setup (although no words from Vorsteiner). At the same time, the rear splitter has been replaced with a more aggressive ‘GT3’ style ducks – and you guessed it, in carbon fibre as well.

The looks are similar to the McLaren GT3 racer –  minus the big wing of course. The MP4-VX is definitely a more aggressive setup than the standard car, and McLaren owners are now spoilt for choice between the kits on offer in the market. Personally – I prefer the Vorsteiner kit over the rest in the market as it’s not flamboyant; rather it enhances the already handsome looking 12C.

There are no words from Vorsteiner on performance upgrades – however we reckon the 616bhp from the 3.8-litre twin-turbo is more than enough. The Zerotohundred sprint is in a blisteringly fast 3.2 seconds and until the 12C’s facelift (due 2014), the Vorsteiner MP4-VX kit should help keep Mclaren owners’ occupied.
