Uninsured Lamborghini Aventador Seized in London and Might Be Sent to the Crushers!

Other than the Big Ben and the immortal Queen, London is well-known for its huge concentration of supercars everywhere you turn your head to. Ferraris are like Protons over there, and the ultra-rare machines from Pagani or Koenigsegg is not that hard to spot. But apparently not all the owners insure their flamboyant ride and as a result, some of them had been seized by the police and risk their rides on being sent to the crushers.

Under the codename Operation Cubo, the Metropolitan Police had recently launched massive crackdown on the uninsured vehicles cruising around the streets of London, particularly the high performance cars brought in by the Middle East tycoons. In just one day, the police managed to gather up 656 vehicles, which one of them is a famous purple Lamborghini Aventador.

Spotted on the streets of London for quite a number of times, the 700-horsepower Aventador was seized in Knightsbridge for being driven illegally. For the time being, the Bull is being put on display outside New Scotland Yard, with the police still considering whether to slap any charges against the driver. The car on the other hand risks the possibility of it being sent to the crushers.

“We have been seizing many types of cars, but sports cars have been among them. We have had a few Porsches, BMW X5s, and a Ferrari – that one got crushed and in fact the vast majority of them are”, said a Metropolitan Police spokesman. A massive number of 10,318 vehicles have been seized in Operation Cubo ever since it was launched back in October 2011.
