Toyota Brings their Furious Furia Concept to Detroit

Now if you think the previous generations of Corollas do not really have the looks and could only be associated as a dull family sedan, then Toyota is set to diminish such thoughts right away. Making its appearance at the 2013 North America International Auto Show is the fearsome and aggressively-looking Toyota Corolla Furia Concept, and it is nothing like the Corolla you have seen in the yesteryears.

Also being its first debut to the public, the Furia Concept is designed with the “Iconic Dynamism” theme, giving the next-gen Corolla the appeal to the more youthful customers. Other than the massive 19-inch wheels this Concept’s rolling in, the design cues of flared fenders, LED lights for both front and rear end, blacked-out grille and a sloped roofline clearly shows that this Corolla has more character than before.

Although the bits like the carbon fiber accents found on the wheel wells, rocker panels and rear valance, those are unlikely to be seen fitted on the production version, if it makes it there. But the Group Vice President and General Manager of the Toyota Division, Bill Fay, seem confident that the car will be their new attraction to the people.

“The Corolla Furia Concept is an early indicator of where our compact car design may lead in the future. It blends a heightened emphasis on dramatic design and modern elements of high technology to generate curb appeal that will surprise a lot of people,” said Fay.
