SIC’s F1 Roadshow Heads To Gurney Plaza This Weekend! (7th – 10th March 2013)

For all those who reside in Penang, Kedah and Perlis, do take note, because there’s a particular Proton Satria Neo R3 that could have your name on it should you manage to win it at the next F1 roadshow at the GP Autoshow 2013 located in Penang’s Gurney Plaza, from today till Sunday, 10th March 2013 as 10 PETRONAS F1 race cars are now placed on showcase.

During the 4-day event, the Sepang International Circuit’s (SIC) ticketing booth will be opened from 10am – 10pm, specifically located at the New Wing area of Gurney Plaza where racing simulators have been setup for ticket purchases to take part in the “Race of Champions” where the top 10 finalists with the fastest lap times will converge for a final showdown at SIC on the 23rd March 2013 to see who will be the new owner of the R3.

Apart from tickets being sold, SIC’s Official Merchandise will also be made available for purchase while you ogle at the 15 years of historic F1 racing cars on display, according to Chief Executive Officer of SIC, Dato’ Razlan Razali, who also added that last weekend saw a massive turnout down south in Johor Bahru. He remains confident that Penang will also experience a similar turn-out since Penang has always been a popular venue for motorsport racing fans.

Currently, SIC is also offering a special price of RM203 for Main Grandstand two-day package tickets to ‘Kad Diskaun Siswa 1Malaysia’, ’Kad Pesara Tentera’, ‘Kad Orang Kurang Upaya’, ‘Kad Skuad Pengguna’ and the ‘1Malaysia Privilege Card’ holders at the roadshow.

A 25% discount for tickets sold is also available when purchasing with a Maybank Visa / Mastercard credit / debit cards which is valid till 17th March for all Main Grandstand seats located at Citrine, North Tower and South Tower, (each costing RM553) and can now be had for only RM415. Seats at Garnet and Topaz (worth RM773) can be had for only RM580.

Seats located at Sapphire and Emerald, are each priced at RM1,763, are now being offered to Maybank cardholders for only RM1,323; while seats at Ruby and Crystal zones can be purchased at RM993 and RM910 respectively. Turquoise and Jade seats, which are currently selling at RM993 and RM883, can be purchased at only RM745 and RM663 respectively during this offer period.

The 2013 Formula 1TM PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix will be held from 22nd March to 24th March as Round 2 of the new Formula 1 World Championship 2013 season, which will open in Melbourne, Australia on the preceding weekend.

As in previous years, fans are strongly encouraged to purchase the tickets early because seat selection will not be allowed during 22nd to 24th March 2013 in the interest of serving the larger crowd of patrons present at the circuit grounds during race day.

Ticket prices are as low as RM63 for seats at the open Hillstands for the entire three days, while Grandstand tickets are selling from RM443 for the seats located at F Grandstand: making the F1 race in Sepang as the most affordable ticket as compared to other F1 venues. Fans with a Grandstand ticket can also stay on for the after-race concert on Sunday, which will feature the international rock legend, Guns N’ Roses.

With the promise that this year will be more than just a race, SIC will be offering the Malaysian Schools Pit Lane Walk sessions for ticket holders on March 22, Friday and hosting the Autograph Sessions with drivers on March 24, Sunday.
