The partnership between Honda and McLaren in Formula 1 from 1988 to 1992 has resulted in a very impressive outcome. Four constructors’ World Championship from two amazing drivers; Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. So when Honda announced that they are announcing their comeback in the sport in 2015, all eyes are set on them.

In preparation of their re-emergence, Honda had recently announced that they will base their Formula 1 racing effort in Milton Keynes, UK. This location is also the home to various other Formula 1 suppliers like McLaren, and the centre will start its operation from June 2014.

“With the confirmation of a new Formula 1 operation base in U.K, our preparation to join Formula 1 has become more specific and concrete. To meet and exceed the expectations of our fans, we will accelerate our development to bring back the unique Honda engine sound onto the track”, said Honda motorsport Chief Yasuhisa Arai.

The new centre will serve as Honda’s frontline operations in Formula 1, taking care of the maintenance of the new engines and recovery units, which will be supplied by McLaren. McLaren will also be assisting Honda in providing the power units for the energy recovery system.
