Fisker Resigns…from Fisker?

It is a bit awkward for a person behind the birth of a company to leave the empire that he had built, especially when the company proudly bears his name. But that was what Henrik Fisker had done as the co-founder, executive chairman and designer of Fisker Automotive officially resigns from the company.

Announcing this shocking decision through email, among the reason stated for his sudden departure was that there were several major disagreements between him and the rest of the management on their business strategy. But Fisker Automotive itself was not in a good shape as it had yet to build a single car since July last year due to a battery pack supply issue, coupled up with the loss of 300 cars when Hurricane Sandy hits New Jersey; which is a lot for a manufacturer that had only delivered 2,000 Karmas through October 2012.

Mr. Fisker however did end his email by showing that he was pleased with the level of interest they managed to gather during their hunt for investors, where there are already a number of them which are being looked over and analyzed for the time being. Among them is China’s Dongfeng, where Fisker is considering selling 85-percent of the shares for a total of USD 340 million.
