Audi Bags their 12th Win in the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours!

There is a reason why he is called “Mr. Le Mans”, and on the 90th Anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Tom Kristensen bags his 9th victory in the historic endurance race and at the same time giving Audi their 12th overall win on the 2013 race. Teaming up with Allan McNish and Loic Duval, the trio managed to keep the lead from the No.8 Toyota TS030 and crossed the finish line just one lap ahead of them.

Having a better run than last year’s, Toyota was in their best shape and giving all their might in chasing the Four Rings to the finish line. Although they managed to stay close to the leading Audi all the way to the final leg of the race, Kristensen managed to pass Sebastien Buemi’s Toyota with only minutes remaining to win by one lap over them.

With Audi still having the edge, Toyota finished the race in an impressive second place where the No.8 TS030 driven by Anthony Davidson, Sebastien Buemi and Stephane Sarrazin representing the Japanese automaker on the podium. Finishing in third was Audi’s No.3 e-tron Quattro with Lucas Di Grassi, Marc Gene and Oliver Jarvis behind the wheels.
