Aston Martin to bring the Rapide Shooting Brake to Geneva?

Do you think that the 6.3-liter V8 engine in the C63 estate or the 5.0-liter V10 powering the RS6 Avant is a bit too much for a car with five doors and an awful lot of luggage capacity? Then this might redefine your definition of ‘too much’ as Aston Martin is also thinking in joining the wagon movement, and the perfect candidate from them will be no other than their own V12 Rapide.

With a massive 6.0-liter V12 engine, this new 470-horsepower Rapide wagon might not be as powerful as the Mercedes or the Audi, but it nevertheless spells a new era of the luxury sports saloon. And while some might think that driving out with a wagon might not look or sound sporty at all, let alone being stylish, this Rapide wagon just looks superb.

But if you are already being captivated by its looks and convinced in getting one, better hold your horses just yet. Aston Martin might be bringing this Rapide to the Geneva Motor Show later next month, but this is unfortunately not an official model from their product lineup. Getting the brand’s blessings, this is a one-off model crafted by Italian coachbuilder Bertone. Dubbed as the Jet 2+2, it is a part of the brand’s 60th anniversary celebration and follows the Jet 2/Vanquish shooting brake that made its appearance back in 2004.

If the Jet 2+2 would somehow make its way into the market, would you go for this or the Ferrari’s 660-horsepower FF?

I have to agree with the poster above. I do love the idea but I'm not digging its looks. A FF for me.
