If we were to pick between Aston Martin’s new Vanquish and Jaguar’s new F-Type, deciding between those two will be one of the hardest decision to make. While the Vanquish does have its own flair, the package that the F-Type brings is just superb. Stunning looks, addictive exhaust note. And the choice has now been made harder as they reveal the hardtop version of Jaguar’s new sports car.
Looking very similar to their C-X16 Concept revealed back in 2011, the F-Type Coupe has been given a couple of minor changes to differentiate the concept with the production car. The roof on the production car for example is now available in either aluminium or panoramic glass form.
Under the hood, the coupe will get the same 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine producing 335-horsepower for the entry-level, as well as the more powerful 375-horsepower version for the S. But for the range-topper, the coupe is blessed with a more hardcore grunt as the V8S roadster ‘only’ gallops with 488-horsepower, while the coupe gets the R badge that terrifies the driver with 542-horsepower.
Keeping all those horses at bay is the optional carbon ceramic brakes, which will also be making its appearance to the roadster range soon. So if it is up to you, which one will it be; the Jag or the Aston?
