Travellers Get Free Coffee at PETRONAS Stations this Weekend!

With the Lunar New Year coming up this weekend, many should be planning or have already planned for their journey home and this is where PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) will be begin their popular Coffee Break programme that will see their first phase begin between 7th and 9th February followed by the second phase between 15th and 17th February 2013.

Organised for the 14th consecutive year, the nationwide programme themed “Rest & Refresh” Safety Campaign aims to educate, equip and encourage drivers to adopt safety measures on the road.

During the Campaign, PDB will offer complimentary food and beverages as well as share road safety tips at its 33 participating PETRONAS Stations located along the highways and major trunk roads across Malaysia. In addition to this, for the 19th consecutive year, PDB will also be fuelling 50 St. John Ambulance Malaysia’s vehicles for their 24-hour highway emergency service during this festive season.

Aminul Rashid Mohd Zamzam, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PDB said, “For PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad, safety is always our number one priority. Hence, we have made the Coffee Break “Rest & Refresh” Safety Campaign our flagship initiative to encourage safe and responsible driving, especially during the balik kampung journey.”

“Our efforts are also in line with the Ministry of Transport’s aim to minimise untoward road incidences during the festive season,” he added.

This year’s Campaign offers aromatic Nescafe Ipoh White Coffee for drivers who need a quick boost of energy while those looking for something refreshing can opt for Tropicana Twister fruit beverages. Complementing these are delicious Julie’s snacks and Gardenia’s cream roll.
In addition, PDB will also be partnering with Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd to provide a free 22-point safety check for all PERODUA vehicles at selected stations. Customers can also participate in the PETRONAS Street Smart team’s road safety interactive games by PETROSAINS while waiting for the inspection to complete.

Aminul said, “Over the years, the Campaign has successfully reached out and benefited over a million motorists. We are indeed pleased to know that our simple gestures have touched the lives of many on the road.”

“Moving forward, we will continue to introduce wider offerings and differentiated services at our stations to benefit all motorists, including their family members and friends,” he added.
