Somewhere around last year, Lexus unveiled the LS 460-based TMG Sports 650 Concept. Made by the guys in Toyota Motorsport GmbH, the TMG Sports 650 Concept gives out the hint that Toyota is able to create something that the German counterparts in the AMG, RS and ///M divisions should be worry about.
Designed as a one-off prototype, the Concept impressed the head of Toyota, Akio Toyoda so much that he commissioned 10 more of such specimens; one for him and nine more for his closest friends to keep. With that taking course, it might be possible that we will be seeing a production variant of the TMG Sports 650 Concept based on the next-generation Lexus LS sometime in 2015.
As a little recap, the TMG Sports 650 Concept is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 650-horsepower mated to an eight-speed transmission. With a zerotohundred figure of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h, the Mercedes Benz S65 AMG and BMW M5 should no longer be ignoring this possible threat somewhere in the near future.
Since the upcoming Lexus GS F already has 465-horsepower coming out from its 5.0-liter V8 engine, the figures should have improved once the TMG Sports 650 Concept hit the production lines.
