PETRONAS Switch for XTRA Road Challenge Concludes and PETRONAS Coffee Break Campaign Resumes!

PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad’s (PDB) recent Switch for XTRA Road Challenge has come to a conclusion with a certain Faizal FBI and his supporting team having been crowned winners after having contended against other celebrities including Awal Ashaari, Scha Alyahya and Hanis Zalikha.

Having been organised through PETRONAS’ Facebook fan page, the 3-month long campaign saw their selected fans riding alongside celebrities in their nationwide race to be the first to complete the assigned challenges.

Throughout the challenge, the stars diligently provided real-time updates via videos and journals; which were posted online to keep their followers informed of their progress. Team FBI faced challenges included them having to drive down to Johor and convince the public to perform an exercise routine. They were the ones who received the most support online and rendering him along with his team mates the winners. They were presented with prizes worth RM10,000 during the star-studded prize giving ceremony.

Previously, a virtual race was organised where fans were called to virtually ‘fuel’ their favourite celebrity racers with PRIMAX 95 XTRA to the finish line. The race was then transferred to the road for participants to experience the benefits of the F1-technology inspired fuel which promises to deliver greater performance and savings.

The Switch for XTRA Road challenge was one of PDB’s marketing initiatives to reach out to its customers both online and on-the-ground while educating them on its innovative products.

Spotted sharing a special moment with his fans, Faizal FBI was visibly happy with his win. He said, “I enjoyed myself throughout the Switch for XTRA Road Challenge especially when doing it together with my fans! I would like to thank PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad for organising this and my fans for all their support!”

In addition to the road challenge, the public was also encouraged to participate in the ‘Take the Challenge’ contest where they were required to follow the progress of the challenge, answer a few questions and write a creative slogan. The four selected winners were awarded a RM100 PETRONAS Gift card each.

During the prize giving ceremony, PDB also announced the return of its PETRONAS Coffee Break Campaign in conjunction with the Chinese New Year balik kampung exodus. The nationwide Campaign will kick-start with the first phase between 7th and 9th February while the second phase resumes between 15th and 17th February.

It will be during these periods that free coffee and other refreshments will be served to motorists who stop by at any of the 33 participating PETRONAS stations situated along the highways and major trunk roads across Malaysia.
