Citroen Celebrates 2013 with the DS3 Red Special Edition

Citroen celebrates the arrival of 2013 with a spectacle manner by launching a new special edition model of their compact DS3, simply called as the “Red”. And while the name might suggest you that it will come in the eye-catching shade it is named after; no, it does not come in red. Instead, this special edition DS3 only comes in Polar White or Perla Nera Black.

If so, what is the point in calling it the “Red”? Well, Citroen did throw in some red accents on certain parts of the car like the roof, mirror caps and front grilles. The 17-inch rims on the other hand get painted with the matching shade as the body. Going into the interior, one could not miss the sharp red plastic trim going across the entire lower part of the dashboard.

Buyers will have various options to choose from, but the DStyle trim comes with the Citroen Connect Signature pack as standard which includes Bluetooth and USB connectivity, and additional speakers for the built-in stereo system. The DSport on the other hand is fitted with rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, rear parking sensors, electrically folding door mirrors, ambient lighting and a central armrest.

The DS3 DStyle Red comes in two engine options, a 1.6-liter VTi petrol with 120-horsepower or the 1.6-liter e-HDi diesel with 90-horsepower. The DSport Red gets the more powerful THP petrol with 155-horsepower or the e-HDi 115-horsepower diesel, both paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
