BMW Group Malaysia Summarises 2012 With All-Time High!

BMW Group Malaysia has just announced that they’ve managed to set another record breaker for 2012, having sold and delivered a total of 6,988 vehicles; including the contributions of their MINI and Motorrad makes as well.

Out of the 6,988 vehicles to date, the German luxury automaker has managed to deliver 6,318 BMW’s alone, 341 MINIs and 329 of their Motorrad machines, marking an increase of 13% over last year’s total of 5,604 vehicles delivered in 2011.

With such an increase, Dr. Gerhard Pils, Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group Malaysia mentioned that “Last year was a historic milestone” for the company here in Malaysia, having “met and exceed benchmarks” in all areas of their business and with regards to 2013, they’ve already got new vehicles and activities already lined-up to “reinforce” their position as the top premium automaker in Malaysia.

The main contributing factor for BMW Group Malaysia’s growth seem to lay in the performance of their network of dealerships, having steadily grown to 24 dealerships nation-wide and comprising of 16 BMW dealerships, four MINI dealerships and four BMW Motorrad dealerships.

For 2012, BMW Group Malaysia has managed to introduce four new BMW 4S (Sales, Service, Systems and Spare-parts) facilities located in Setia Alam, Kuantan, Butterworth, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu as well as a new MINI facility on Jalan Maarof in Bangsar and a new BMW Motorrad dealership in Kuantan.

BMW Group Malaysia also managed to introduce their all new BMW Active Hybrid models adding the BMW Active Hybrid 3 Series and 5 Series to their current BMW Advanced Diesel stable mates, which currently accounts for 20% of BMW’s total volume here in Malaysia.

BMW Group Malaysia has also just introduced the locally assembled BMW X3 that’s being assembled at their plant in Kulim, effectively adding an entirely new production series from BMW here in Malaysia, where it already includes the BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series and BMW X1.

Since the company entered into Malaysia’s automotive market in 2003, they have consistently recorded good growth figures, becoming Malaysia’s fastest growing premium automotive company for nine years consecutively.
