The Malaysian Super Series or MSS has been attracting drivers from all over Asia and on the recent Round 3, Team Tedco Racing fielded a new driver line-up for their Proton Satria Neo’s car No.27. Although it was the first time for Rally Marina and Marshal Jahja from Indonesia to go around Sepang International Circuit, both of them had displayed a great performance by qualifying in fifth position.
Battling a field of 17 cars in the race, Rally, being one of the top Indonesian female drivers said that she is still learning the circuit and will definitely improve with more seat time in Round 4. Marshal, who had last raced more than a decade ago had similar views, but the combination of both these drivers managed to commandeer the car with very little issues, clinching the fifth position across the finish line.
Meanwhile on the sister Satria Neo No.16, the driver combination of Chunkie Chandra from Indonesia and Alvaro Mourato from Macau were very optimistic in securing the top spot as both of them are very experienced and quick at the same time. However, the car suffered transmission problems and only managed to qualify in ninth.
Things got worst during the race as they were involved in a collision with Proton’s car No.36, further damaging the car. Since the damage was too severe to be repaired, they were forced to retire from the race.
Team Tedco Racing worked very closely with their co-sponsors, Sakura Filters and ADR Group of Indonesia in developing race-spec radiators and air filters. Both the No.16 and No.36 cars were fitted and tested with the components during the race weekend, and the telemetry analysis projected the components performed faultlessly above expectations. The team is also co-sponsored by Indocafe.
