300-Unit Subaru WRX RS40 Destined only for the Aussies!

Subaru seems to be pretty active these days as not long after we had the ultra-long-named WRX STi tS Type RA NBR and the possibility of having the BRZ STi, they had come up with a new variant for their AWD machine. While the tS Type RA NBR are destined only for the Japan market, Australia is blessed with a special version of the WRX, the RS40.

First things first, the WRX RS40 is not as extreme as the aforementioned, but it does has its own charm and exclusiveness. With only 300 units to be made, the WRX RS40 is actually pays homage to Subaru’s success in the rally scene and at the same time celebrating its 40th anniversary in Australia.

Based on the WRX sedan, it is no surprise that this tribute model is bathed in the iconic WR Blue Mica finish, coupled with the contrasting 17-inch gold WRX wheels. Other exterior changes also include a myriad of aero components like the STi front and rear spoiler, and some “RS40” badges/decals.

On the inside, the WRX RS40 gets a STi short shift gear assembly, STi flexible tower strut brace, and Recaro seats with dashes of blue Alcantara. All these additions add up only AUD 4,500 (RM 13,000) to the standard WRX price, giving the RS40 an AUD 44,490 (RM 129,050) price tag.

Australians are so privileged, they have great cars, talented drivers and beautiful women. What could they wish for more? Not mention that their country is incredible, I can truly say that this article put an ounce of envy in my soul
