The Plot Thickens – Lotus Sues Former CEO Dany Bahar on Excessive Spending

The Lotus-Dany Bahar case seems to be going nowhere near to an end. Starting off with his dismissal from Lotus, Bahar then sues Lotus for an extravagant USD 10.6 million for he claims was a “wrongful dismissal and other damages”. And now, the plot thickens as Lotus barges in with their own lawsuit towards the former CEO as he allegedly spent an excessive amount on renting properties, private flights, and even watches.

According to the reports, a total of almost USD 4 million was spent by Bahar on various occasions where over USD 1.6 million was spent on renting and refitting two properties in the UK, close to USD 2 million was claimed by the CEO for travel expenses through private jets and helicopters, and also around USD 5,000 in spending for watches, where he claimed were for Lotus managers.

“The spending pattern of the group was not justifiable or sustainable, including the lavish lifestyle of the claimant who appeared to have ignored internal controls”, said Lotus on the matter. They are asking a total of USD 4 million from Bahar, and also added that he had made some “damaging statements” to the media and breached his contract.

That is insane. Why can't things just end peacefully between a CEO and a company. It seems like there always has to be a lawsuit involved.

When a CEO refused to be corrupted by a corrupted company, the company will threaten and go after the CEO. It doesn't get anymore obvious.
