Super GT 2012 Round 3 Malaysia Begins 1 Month Countdown!

That’s right folks, there’s only one more month till the big race is here and its being seen as The biggest motor sport event of the year with lap after lap of heart-stopping racing, exotic supercars, gorgeous Race Queens, latest lifestyle gadgets and mouth-watering foods!

First beginning in 1993 with the GT500 and GT300 categories, these race cars were seen as a masterpiece in technical engineering, with well-known marques and after-market brands, especially in the mod-world that many here in Malaysia could relate to.

The GT500 race was, and probably still is, seen as the fastest Grand Touring Race in the world, being able to outpace cars from FIA’s GT1 and DTM realms, featuring three major Japanese automakers: Honda, Lexus, and Nissan.

Although the GT500 class provides a whole load of excitement in terms of speed, the GT300 class will be providing spectators with variety, thanks to the likes of Subaru, Nissan, Toyota, Honda and Continental makes taking part.

Best of all, 2012 will be marking the year that hybrids will be making their mark in the Super GT race series with the Toyota Prius GT300 and Honda CRZ GT300 vying to be top hybrid ‘dawg‘ starting in round 4 at Sportsland Sugo on 29th July.

Though there’s going to be some hot on-track action, there’s also a host of off-track activities to ensure that there’s something for everyone.

Back by popular demand from last year, this year’s Super GT 2012 will feature the Motorshow with many road-going variants of the SUPER GT race cars.

The Autosalon will also be made available this year, making sure that there’s some attractive products and services for tuning aficionados.

On top of that, this year’s Super GT is looking to break the Malaysia Book of Records’ 405 car line-up on Sepang’s long straight.

If you’re into gadgets and/or foods, then the Akihabara Town will be the place for you to satisfy your fixation on gadgets. Modeled after its namesake in Japan, the Akihabara Town is a one-stop location for all lifestyle devices, as well as an assortment of mouth-watering babes foods from different cuisines.

That’s not all though, if you’re an avid GT racer on your Sony Playstation, then you’d best stick around the Akihabara Town which happens to also be the main venue of the Gran Turismo 5 Asia Online Tournament 2012 Finals – for more information, click on the link provided!

Patrons will also be able to attend the Pit Walkabout at Sepang, allowing you to get up close, and perhaps personal, with the SUPER GT machines, drivers, managers, pit crews, and of course, the much-anticipated Race Queen hotties!

Finally, on centre stage throughout the day there will be cultural performances, dances, interviews of the SUPER GT drivers, Race Queens, GT Queens and much more!
