Red Bull to be the Next Promoter of the WRC

Red bull is striving strong in the extreme sports category, and they are about to add another one into their broad list of motorsports besides of already having a strong ground in Formula 1 and the Rally Cross in the X Games. If things would go smoothly in the transition of power, Red Bull might just be taking over the sponsorship of the World Rally Championship (WRC) anywhere in the near future.

Since the International Motorsports Federation (FIA) had terminated North One Sport’s contract in promoting the WRC for “conspicuously failed to deliver its contractual obligations and is in fundamental breach of contract”, the WRC’s governing body were prompted for new main sponsor for this much-loved, rough-road championship. The FIA had previously tried getting Converse Sports Initiative to replace North One’s spot, but with the allegations of fraud shrouding the owner Vladimir Antonov, the company went down and put FIA back into square one on the search.

The new search however, had turned up better for them as FIA had managed to narrow down the candidates to three hopefuls; Red Bull Media House, a South African partnership deal and Eurosport. But even with the appearance of the other two, Red Bull is seen to have the advantage of securing the contract as the main sponsorship of WRC for the next few years as from what the reports are stating.
