Peugeot Gives a Short Peek of their Onyx Concept

The French automaker Peugeot might be a constant bashing subject for the Top Gear UK presenters, with a simple reference of them being boring and has the same “wide-mouthed” look over its range of models. But the RCZ had put a stop on such behavior as it does look properly impressive and different from what Peugeot had been manufacturing along the years.

And as a surprise for this upcoming Paris Motor Show at the 29th of September, Peugeot is bringing in something special that would probably bring a whole new image for them. It is simply called the “Onyx”, and Peugeot had just released a short clip in giving out a rough indication of how their latest concept car might look like. Although the 24-second clip might be a bit too short in determining the exact overall looks of the Onyx, we managed to extract some screenshots from the clip to have a better view of it.

Like most concept cars, the Onyx sports the menacing design language, with an overall bodyline that resembles a supercar. Not much information could yet be obtained about it, but it is said that the Onyx will be powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine with an output of 256-horsepower. Paired with an electric motor, the final output is estimated to be around 400-horsepower. This hybrid concept car is also said to have an average fuel consumption of only 4-liters/100km.

Then again, this is just a concept car and the figures might only be an early estimation. But with such looks, this might be the one stealing the spotlights at the upcoming motor show going on at Peugeot’s own backyard.
