PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) just launched their “Best Performing Engine Challenge” and “Tech Talks” that will last for three months and has 10 automotive colleges and universities in participation, all vying to be one of the top 3 teams to clinch a 3-month internship programme with Cycle & Carriage.
The challenge is part of PDB’s inaugural Youth Activation Campaign that’s in collaboration with the largest dealer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Malaysia – Cycle & Carriage (C&C) Bintang Berhad, which looks to help nurture and develop the talent pool of Malaysia’s automotive industry through the use of this platform.
The “Best Performing Engine Challenge” involves 10 teams, who will receive a supply of PETRONAS Syntium lubricants by PDB to conduct their experiments, whilst looking to improve performance figures and efficiency levels of an engine.
Judges from both PETRONAS and C&C technical specialists will not just be scrutinizing the team’s engines to see who’s got the best blend of power and efficiency, but also their level of knowledge on products from PETRONAS as well as their presentation and communication skills.
During this campaign, PETRONAS will also be visiting each participating institution across the nation to hold educational workshops, dubbed “Tech Talks”, which will look to providing students with some “hands-on” insights on the functional fluids technology and lubricants.
