Nissan Unveils the 2013 GT-R NISMO GT3 Racer

Although the stock GT-R could already provide an enjoyable driving experience for both the streets and the tracks, Nissan is offering a much more serious package to those who where money is not going to be a problem. Teaming up with the in-house performance and racing division Nismo, one could have a totally different experience on the tracks onboard the 2013 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3.

The 2012 GT3 version was released in March earlier this year, and had been racking up several victories in races all over the world ever since in the hands of both NDDP RACING (Nismo) and also customer racing teams. With already a great start, the 2013 model sports a number of upgrades that made this GT3 racer better than before.

Still housing the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine as the road-going GT-R, this new GT3 engine has new camshaft timing and reinforced moving parts to improve durability. The 550-horsepower and 470-lb-ft of torque generated is sent via a six-speed sequential manual gearbox to the rear wheels.

The aerodynamics also received some tweaking such as the addition of front canards and an enlarged front fender louvers. The massive rear wing was also slightly moved to optimize the amount of downforce generated.

From the name itself, you could already tell that this is not a road-legal machine. But Nissan is ready to make this serious racer for you, given that you are ready to write down a USD $431,000 (RM 1.3 mil) cheque; and that has yet to include the taxes.
