Nissan Almera Breaks Cover!

Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETM) has just pulled the sheets off the Nissan Almera at Kuala Lumpur’s retail haven, Pavilion. The Almera is a complete-knock-down (CKD) model to be joining the list of B-Segment sedans and will be locally assembled at Tan Chong’s Serendah plant.

Due to appear sometime in the fourth quarter of 2012, Nissan’s best selling global sedan – the Almera, will come to us with your choice of a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission, whilst boasting of a 14.9km/L fuel economy from the 1.5L HR15D 4-cylinder engine that produces 102bhp at 6,000rpm and 139Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.

According to Nissan, the Almera has sold more than 460,000 vehicles since it was launched in 2010, with great popularity in both China and Thailand, as Dato’ Ang Bon Beng (Executive Director of Edaran Tan Chong Motor) said, “The all-new Nissan Almera has an upscale and spacious design. It also features technologies and amenities that are usually found in more expensive vehicles. With it’s surprisingly roomy interior and class-leading level of comfort, we are optimistic that the Nissan Almera will be a top seller in Malaysia.”

Such technologies and equipment includes the likes of Nissan’s keyless entry, push-start ignition, automatic climate control, steering audio controls and a multi-information Display (MID). However, it’s not certain as to how many variants will be released, so be sure it will require you digging deeper into your pockets for it. Pricing is rumoured to be around the RM70,000 – RM85,000 zone.

Five colours will be made available to spoil you for choice and those are: Bronze Gold, Sapphire Black, Twilight Grey, Tungsten Silver and solid Brilliant White. The new Almera also comes with a 100,000km or 3 year warranty (which ever comes first) and is now open for booking.

The new Sunny Almera will be on display at Pavilion from 10th – 12th August as well as at Queensbay Mall, Penang (16th – 21st August 2012), Paradigm Mall, Kelana Jaya (23rd – 26th August 2012) and East Coast Mall, Kuantan (31st August – 2nd September 2012). Alternatively, you may visit www.nissan.com.my to find out more and to and to register your interests about the all-new Nissan Almera.

in my opinion, it's ugly. how can a company that design great cars like GTR, 370Z, 350Z, Silvia can come out with something so...... speechless.
