Production McLaren P1 Unveiled at Private NYC Event

Although they might not have a wide and diverse lineup, McLaren’s creations will always captivate and astonish the automotive world. The McLaren F1 is purely a speed machine that still wows today’s generation, and the MP4-12C is quickly rising above the ranks to be the best performing supercar there is. And with the P1 concept recently shown to the world at the Paris Motor Show, we are one step closer in actually having it rocking the automotive world as the production version of this new hypercar was recently unveiled at a private event in New York.

Although the one shown at the Paris Motor Show was almost like the production version itself, the private event further elaborated the missing 3-percent of the new hypercar as the one in Paris was said to be “97-percent final”. And those final percents are the vents in the fenders ahead of the front wheels in order to channel hot air away, and a different mesh grille pattern for the rear part of the car.

The P1 has a big responsibility to fill, especially when a lot are looking for it to be setting a new benchmark as the F1 did. The P1 is engineered with the latest McLaren technology available, such as having the body panels being made entirely from carbon fiber and an impressive design that also contributes in generating a massive 590kg of downforce at 200km/h.

The P1 is scheduled to hit the showrooms by the end of 2013, but the price for this babe is still yet to be released.
