Infiniti Adds M25 and M35h (RM350,000 – RM499,000 OTR)

Inspired Motor Sdn Bhd, the distributor of Inifiniti vehicles in Malaysia, is adding two more variants to keep their M37 company and the first is the M35h (Hybrid) followed by the baseline M25.

Christopher Tan, General Manager of Inspired Motor, said “For 2012, the Infiniti range of luxury performance vehicles will be reinforced with the introduction of the world’s fastest accelerating full hybrid, the M35h, as well as a competitively priced M25 which sports a 2.5L V6 with as much emphasis on luxury, comfort and equipment as well as driving pleasure. We are confident that our expanded range will further widen Infiniti’s appeal to luxury car buyers and build on the anticipatory hospitality that Infiniti has been renowned for.”

The M35h provides 302bhp from 3.5L Atkinson-Cylce V6 engine as well as 68bhp / 260Nm of pure torque from its electric motor to give a combined horsepower rating of 360bhp. This will enable you to glide around town silently and emissions-free. But with all that power, the M35h can also provide you an ultra-efficient highway cruise at sports car speeds as well as the responsiveness on challenging roads. The M35h has an exceptionally aerodynamic (0.26Cd) body for all that cruising around.

On a combined cycle, the M35h is capable of providing 14.5km/L, with a Guinness World Record zerotohundred performance in just 5.5s, whilst emitting only 162g/km of CO2; thanks to the use of their new-generation Inifiniti Direct Response Hybrid technology, which is now able to accelerate up to 100kmh on just the electric motor alone.

The M35h does not have a torque converter, which helps to reduce mechanical losses for linear performance and consistent handling feel thanks to a seamless petrol/electric power delivery to the rear wheels only, enhancing the responsiveness essential for maximum driving pleasure. A 7-speed transmission, fully automated, further boosts driver appeal.

Also equipped in the M35h is an innovative new hybrid electric power steering and regenerative braking, a hybrid dashboard display showing energy flows and a low-speed audible warning system – Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians (VSP) – the first time such a system has been made standard on any hybrid. VSP emits a non-intrusive sound that varies in pitch and volume at vehicle speeds up to about 30km/h to help ensure the safety of pedestrians and other road users when the M35h is in silent electric mode.

Based on the FM (Front-Midship) platform, the M35h delivers incisive handling matched by exceptional ride comfort tuned for European roads.

The equipment list for the M35h is long but distinguished such as the semi-aniline premium leather upholstery, ventilated climate-control front seats, forest Air climate control, 16-speaker Bose Premium surround sound system, hand-buffed high gloss Japanese White Ash wood trim with powdered silver finish, bi-Xenon Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) cornering headlights with washer, Hard Disk Drive Infiniti Music Box with CD reader and USB/iPod connectivity.

The M25 on the other hand, is Infiniti’s most affordable model yet, with a 2.5L V6 providing 218bhp and 243Nm of torque mated to a  7-speed automatic transmission, the rear-wheel driven M25 completes the zerotohundred sprint in 8.5s and its top speed finally resides at 231kmh.

Visually, the M25 looks almost identical to its high-performance M35h Hybrid and M37 brethrens, also brandishing 18″ aluminium alloy wheels wrapped with 245/50 tyres.

The extensive list of standard equipment includes the Drive Mode Selector, Active Noise Control, Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) with auto-leveling headlights, Intelligent Key with Keyless Entry and Push Button Ignition, powered glass moon-roof, quilted leather seats and Infiniti’s distinctive White ash silver-powdered wood trim.

Exterrior colours comes with the choice of Platinum Graphite, Malbec Black, Storm Front Grey, Liquid Platinum, Black Obsidian, and Moonlight White.
