Nissan to Unveil the Extrem Concept in Brazil

The Sao Paolo International Motor Show taking place this 24 October – 4 November will get a special treat from Nissan as the Japanese car manufacturer is going to debut a concept car designed specifically for Brazil. Dubbed as the Extrem, this lightweight, 2+2 coupe was designed in San Diego, California, but the styling cues for the car were obtained directly from the Brazilian designers based in Sao Paolo.

“Brazil is a country of great natural beauty and it has a passionate, rich culture. But this is not always reflected in the cars on its streets, especially the more affordable locally produced vehicles which tend to be conservative in design, color and specification,” said the Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Shiro Nakamura.

While the Extrem does gives out a feel of sportiness through the design lines, headlights and rims, it bears some practicality through the functional rood rails, aluminum skid plate and see-through A-pillars. The solar Cortex deep metallic orange paint and the roof pattern were inspired Brazilian nature while the brightly-colored accents found on the gas cap, tow hook and wheels were themed from the urban rally car.

Sadly this great looking Concept is not expected to be in the production line anytime soon, but it does serve as a new direction that Nissan is venturing into, where they are putting more attention into the growing Brazilian market.

“We have created the Extrem to show how serious we are about Brazil. Extrem is provocative, energetic and engaging, and it reflects the passion, innovation and excitement we put into all of our cars”, said Christian Meunier, the President of Nissan Brazil.
