DIY Russian Juke-R Blasting at the ‘Ring and Moscow Unlim 500+!

Think the $590,000 (RM 1.8million) price tag that Nissan puts on their built-to-order Juke-R is a bit too much? Well, a company in Russia certainly thinks so and they took the most innovative step to acquire one of this uniquely-looking SUV pumping the heart of a supercar-killer machine; they cued the music and built their own Juke-R.

The Russian-based company called Shpilli Villi engineering went creative in turning this crossover into a special one-off that could not be found elsewhere. By putting it under the knife for a heart transplant, they took off the original 1.6-liter to make way for the tuned GT-R engine strapped with HKS turbos that has an output of 700+ horsepower. It is said that if fed with 109 Octane gas, they could get this Juke-R running on 800-horsepower!

This do-it-yourself Juke-R was spotted attending the Gran Turismo Nurburgring 2012 September Edition recently, and it was indeed a crowd-magnet not only for its uniqueness, but also for the mean grunt it produces while accelerating. A video posted on youtube showing this Juke-R’s run also included the lap time to be somewhere in the 8-minute range, which is pretty impressive for a road-legal vehicle!

But that is not the only footage on showing this Juke-R’s prowess, as it was also spotted entering the infamous Moscow Unlim 500+ drag race. Going against a 900-horsepower Porsche 911(997) Mk.1 Turbo Switzer, the Juke-R displayed great potential by taking the early lead in the 1-mile race, but lost the final stretch to the Porsche. Nevertheless, this is really a crossover that one should not cross path with, or they will only be seeing the back of an SUV disappearing into the horizon with a mind-boggling speed.
