Ahmad Zamani Takes His Third MSS Superstock Win

With the Round 4 Malaysian Super Series (MSS) taking place as a support race during the MotoGP last weekend, veteran rider Ahmad Zamani Baharuddin showed that he still got the edge as a rider despite his age by winning Race 2 at the 2012 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix held at Sepang International Circuit.

The win is also his third successive MSS Superstock crown, giving him the room for a round to spare. The 36-year-old rider had also won the opening race on Saturday and expressed in defending the title for next year as he still loves motorsports and the challenge that is posed on the racing track.

“Yes, there are plans to continue competing again…But we will need to see whether I have the energy. I am not young anymore,” quoted the veteran rider who spent seven years taking part in the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) with Petronas Sprinta Yamaha Racing Team before changing his league to the MSS.

Over to the Superbike category, Mohamad Syahnas Shahidan grabbed his second win, earning him another 25 championship points and giving him a stronger grasp on the top of the standings. With only one more round to go, he now tops the leader board with 145 points, 15 more than the second-place Yasuhiro Kuhara.

“Obviously, I have a very good weekend … but, there’s still one more round to go. We still need to work hard to achieve our target,” said the Iktikad Raya Racing rider.
