Semi-Active Suspension to be Had on Ducati’s Revised Multistrada 1200 for 2013!

Ducati has pulled the sheets off their upcoming 2013 Sport Touring Ducati Multistrada 1200 range, which sees it receive not just aesthetic changes but also a 2nd generation Testastretta 11° motor, an updated 3-level ABS System and best of all, it’s getting a new semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS).

For this year, as usual there will be four different models to be had, but the current 1200S “Sport” model will be out-ranked by the Multistrada 1200S ‘Granturismo’ which will be Mutistrada’s flagship machine.

All models will retain Ducati’s ‘Riding Mode’ system which changes the engine mapping between four different presets at the flick of a switch and, on the S versions, it also electronically adjusts the suspension to suit along with Ducati’s switchable traction control system (DTC).

But the most significant of changes come with the introduction of Ducati’s new semi-active suspension system, dubbed the ‘Ducati Skyhook Suspension’ (DSS) that can be had on both the Granturismo model and on the ‘S’ versions, but won’t be found on the base Mutistrada 1200.

The upcoming Multistrada 1200s Granturismo will feature increased side luggage capacity, a top case, additional LED illumination, enhanced wind protection, long-distance tyres, Ride-by-Wire (R-b-W) and heated grips to name a few.

The new range of Multistradas will be making an appearance at this year’s INTERMOT show in Cologne (3rd – 7th October 2012). So stay tuned till then for more details!
