During the grand re-opening of NAZA KIA’s new 4S facility in Setapak, PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) took the opportunity to reveal their new PETRONAS Tutela Transmission ATF-XP4 (PETRONAS Tutela), that’s reportedly a technologically advanced premium automatic transmission fluid (ATF) formulated for vehicles with SP-IV specification meant for ideally for 6-speed transmissions and other vehicles that require low viscosity ATF.
PDB’s new transmission fluid, has apparently been designed and developed to deliver outstanding fuel efficiency and excellent gear shift performance. It is specifically developed in collaboration with one of PDB’s long-standing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partners and Malaysia’s leading automotive distributor – Naza Kia Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
During the launch, Mohd Shobri Abu Bakar (GM of Lubricants Business Division) said: “As the leading retailer and marketer of downstream petroleum products, PDB is committed to deliver only the best in the industry for our partners. Formulated with premium quality synthetic base fluids and high performance additives technology, the PETRONAS Tutela supposedly is capable of providing superior results in anti-shudder performance and enhanced friction durability, oxidation stability and effectively stays in grades, low temperature fluidity and protection against wear, corrosion, sludge or other harmful deposits. All of that basically helps to enhance gear shift performance, which will inherently help to enhance fuel economy.
PDB has apparently allowed their Tutela ATF to have undergone independent third-party laboratory tests, which confirmed that the fluid does indeed have enhanced friction durability as compared to other fluids. In addition, an on-site testing with Naza Kia Malaysia in an actual driving condition within Malaysia has received positive feedback in terms of the overall performance and gear shift.
PDB is the first oil company in Malaysia to introduce this type of transmission fluid solution and the PETRONAS Tutela ATF comes in a pack of 1 Litre and 18 Litres – now available at all Naza Kia outlets.
