New Turbo-Diesel Chevrolet Captiva Arrives! (From RM158,888 OTR)

Chevrolet Malaysia (Naza Quest Sdn. Bhd.)has just introduced two new and more powerful turbo-diesel variants of the Chevrolet Captiva SUV for Malaysians, which now possesses a turbocharged 2.0L Diesel VCDI engine producing 360Nm from as low as 2,750rpm with 160bhp at 3,800rpm and will be available in both LT and LTZ guises.

Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, NAZA Group of Companies Joint Group Executive Chairman said “The Captiva is already a versatile and luxurious offering with performance and advanced technologies in one. With the addition of the more powerful and frugal turbo-diesel power-trains, it definitely raises the bar once again for SUVs in its class.”

A 6-speed auto transmission is also available, offering Driver Shift Control (DSC) and ECO mode, both of which was originally found in the Captiva LT petrol variant.

In terms of rim sizes, both the petrol and turbo-diesel LT variants will have 18” alloy rims as standard, but if you want bigger, the 19” alloys can be found on the more expensive LTZ for a more dynamic driving experience and of course a little more enhancement on the looks department.

Leather upholstery is also one of the many bevy of options coming in as standard, such as the electrically operated parking brake, 3D sound staging system and a multi-function 4-spoke steering wheel that was previously being offered in the came petrol LT variant and can now be found in both the new additions.

Glaring headlights or blinding hi-beams from the rear will be a thing of the past as the upgraded LTZ now features an electro-chromic rear-view mirror as you sit on some comfortable perforated leather that’s especially ideal for that long journey.

In terms of safety, the updated LTZ adopts the petrol LT’s active and passive safety systems with dual front airbags supplemented by curtain airbags, disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Traction Control (TC), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) including Anti-Rollover Protection (ARP) and Self-Levelling suspension system (Self-Levelizer),

However, ‘Hill Start Assist’ as well as ‘Hill Descent Control’ will be offered on both the LT and LTZ variants.

Retail prices for the Chevrolet Captiva without insurance are as follows:-

– 2.4L Petrol ECOTEC AWD LT – RM158,888
– 2.0L Turbo-Diesel VCDi AWD LT – RM165,888
