Move Over Virage, the 2013 Aston Martin DB9 Is Here

Earlier this month, we have reported the news that Aston Martin is axing the Virage to make way for the next-gen DB9 which offers more for less. And it looks like the chaps over at Aston probably had that thought in mind for quite some time as the 2013 DB9 has not only been revealed, it is also already available for orders in North American dealerships.

Set in replacing the Virage, the 2013 DB9 still houses its iconic V12 which has been tinkered to produce an increased output of 510-hp and 457 lb-ft of torque; 40-hp more than the old DB9. Receiving new styling cues adapted from the Virage, the standard package for this DB9 also includes carbon ceramic brakes, Brembo calipers, bi-xenon headlights, and Aston’s own Adaptive Damping System (ADS). With a curb weight of 1,784kg (3,935 lbs), the new Aston boasts a 50/50 weight distribution and is only available in automatic.

The interior does not offer a lot of updates, as the instrument and layout are still pretty much similar to the ones in the current Vantage, except for the backup camera that comes in as standard. The lack of interior updates is necessary in order to not overshadow the all-new 2013 Vanquish’s modern interior, which is currently enjoying its time under the spotlight for the time being.

Like the previous DB9, this 2013 model will also be offered as a coupe or a Volante (convertible) form. The price in North America starts at USD 185,400 (RM 566,858) and deliveries will begin in November this year.
