Audi TT RS – Related to Audi 90 Quattro!

Hans-Jaochim Stuck, winner of the 1990 DTM Championship, at the helm of a turbo-charged 5-cylinder Audi 90 Quattro said: “A race car has a soul”. Something Audi would like for you to relate to with their new TT RS that’s been infused with some racing heritage.

Not with parts from yester-years of course, although the TT RS also has a force-fed 5-cylinder engine under the hood; but rather, it’s what Audi engineers did in order to emulate what Herr Stuck felt when he was behind the wheel of his Audi 90 Quattro.

As Michael Ganz, Quattro GmbH engineer, mentions in this short clip that the TT RS’ engine is, however, a direct descendant of the 90 Quattro that possessed up to 700bhp, which happens to be 340bhp more than what the TT RS’ 2.5L churns out (360bhp).
