Yamaha reveals 2010 YZR-M1 at the Sepang International Circuit

Yamaha unveiled the 2010 MotoGP YZR-R1 race bike before the start of the Preseason MotoGP testing at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Pit Lane this morning.

The bike was unveiled by nine times MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi and team mate Jorge Lorenzo.

Both bikes liveries looks quite similar to last year’s liveries but with the addition of “Semakin Di Depan” (a translation of Yamaha’s tag line which means “One Step Ahead”) on the tail section of the bike.

Sources say that the major change on the 2010 MotoGP YZR-R1 is in the engine, in lieu with MotoGP adopting long-life engine regulations this season as it follows Formula 1’s cost cutting trend.

More information will be revealed today as the team organizes an official team press conference later in the evening in SIC.

Meanwhile SIC is buzzing with activities as the rest of the teams in MotoGP gets busy with the testing their machines on the hot 5.543km long circuit.

The riders and their machines were seen going slow around the circuit at first as for some this would be their first time on the new bike.

Rossi and Lorenzo – plus Yamaha management and Tech 3 riders Colin Edwards and Ben Spies – will attend a press conference at Sepang this evening, following the end of Thursday’s track action. The Sepang test concludes on Friday.
